VBS Volunteer Interest Form

Hey there!

We're thrilled you're interested in volunteering with us! 🎉 Let's make this super easy for you. Could you kindly fill out this form? It'll help us figure out the best way for you to join the fun. I will be placing volunteers starting April 1, so make sure to fill out this form by then to have a better chance of serving in your top choice!
Our theme this year for VBS (Very Best Summer) is “Just Like Me” This intersectional curriculum is designed to help kids celebrate their own identities as beloved creation of God—just as they are. Over the course of the week, campers willbe introduced to cast of neighborhood Gardeners who will help them explore Biblical stories of people who were able to change things for the better. Students will practice sharing what they have, finding their community, and using their voice for others!

Here are the details:
Location: Light of Christ
When: July 14th to July 18th
Time:

  • Monday, July 14th: 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM

  • Tuesday to Friday: 8:10 AM to 12:20 PM

  • We usually finish clean-up by 1:00 PM on Friday.

What are my options?

Station Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Help the station director lead groups of kids in activities. Stations include snack, craft, games, and science.

  • Assist in the setup and cleanup of the activity each day

  • Meet with your team 1-2 times before VBS to familiarize yourself with the activities. This will be 1-3 weeks before the start of VBS.

  • Attend whole group training on Sunday, June 29.

Small Group Leader

*Must be rising highschool freshman or older*

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a group of around 10 kids through their day at VBS.

  • Help kids keep track of belongings

  • Assist station directors and assistants during activities

  • Lead small group for your crew, materials will be provided

  • Encourage assistants to lead kids and grow in their leadership skills

  • Attend whole group training on Sunday, June 29.

Small Group Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Assist small group leader in leading a group of around 10 kids through their day at VBS.

  • Help kids keep track of belongings

  • Assist station directors and assistants during activities

  • Help kids participate in small group

  • Attend whole group training on Sunday, June 29.

Co-Host

Responsibilities:

  • Use the provided script to keep kids excited and engaged during large group time

  • Rehearse with other host(s) and worship team at least 5 times before VBS

  • Greet kids as they arrive

  • Assist with the bible story

  • Assist in teaching kids the dance and music. Co-hosts will move to the music station during rotations

  • Attend whole group training on Sunday, June 29.

Worship Leader

Good experience if you want to get an idea of the co-host responsibilities for next year!*

Responsibilities:

  • Rehearse with hosts and worship team at least 5 times before VBS

  • Come to the stage for music and bible story

  • Assist in teaching kids the dance and music. Worship leaders will move to the music station during rotations

  • Assist with the bible story

  • Attend whole group training on Sunday, June .
